Abstract
 | A survey conducted by the Home Office at periodic intervals since 1982, which asks a sample of the population about their experiences as victims of crime in the previous year, and about their attitudes towards crime and the criminal justice system. The survey provides a measure of the true extent of crime, and is used by the Home Office to complement statistics derived from crimes reported to the police. |
