This dataset holds Health of the Nation, Baseline data for the 1992 Public Health Common Data Set (PHCDS). Further information about the Public Health Common Datasets (PHCDS) is provided in the Series, Sub-series and Dataset Documentation Catalogues. The dataset consists of thirty-four tables. Data is by National Health Service (NHS) administrative areas, namely District Health Authorities (DHAs), Regional Health Authorities (RHAs), and Family Health Services Authorities (FHSAs) in England.

Logical structure and schema

The data for the 1992 PHCDS has been organised into six datasets. The other five datasets, relating to population, fertility, deaths and morbidity, can be accessed via Links to related datasets.

The Public Health Common Data Set 1992 - Health of the Nation Baseline Data is divided into the following tables, see the table catalogues for further information. There are seventeen tables containing national and regional data and data for DHAs; the remaining seventeen tables contain national and regional data and data for FHSAs. However some tables do not contain the breakdown to DHA or FHSA level - see 'Logical structure and schema' of the Sub-series catalogue
