This table contains data that relates to the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) offshore quadrants.
To see an image of the associated shapefile (created by NDAD from the original ArcView files), see ukcs_quads image (CRDA/26/DD/5/2004/5).
"To reflect the datum shift between WGS84 and ED50, quads either side of 6°W have been merged into ED50. For display puposes, quads immediately to the west of 6°W are slightly smaller in an east-west direction. This is in line with the United Kingdom Offshore Operators Association survey committee best practice."
The associated shapefile (in the original system) "is in geographic co-ordinates / decimal degrees and merged into datum ED50".
