Dataset Consumer Prices Index snapshot 1988-2003
Scope and content
This table shows weights used to compile the consumer prices index (CPI) 1996-2004. The CPI excludes a number of items that are included in the RPI, mainly related to housing. These include council tax and a range of owner-occupier housing costs such as mortgage interest payments, house depreciation, buildings insurance, estate agents' and conveyancing fees. See section 4.1 Scope and content of the Dataset Catalogue for details in post 2003 data.
