Abstract
 | The Humberside attitudes and preferences survey was carried out on behalf of the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBC) as part of a fundamental review of the county's future. It took place in late 1989 and sought to obtain information from residents of the county of Humberside and district of Selby, in North Yorkshire, about their attitudes towards the county, which had been unpopular since its creation in 1974. The LGBC review examined the potential costs and benefits of abolishing Humberside and establishing an alternative arrangement for local government in the area. |
