Scope and content

This table provides daily information to monitor cracked trials and tracking ineffective cases in the Crown Court, with introductory letter and examples. A 'cracked' trial is a case that is listed at the Crown Court for a contested trial by jury but on the day of the trial, for a number of reasons, it is disposed of in some other way.
